Dr. Antonio J. Jara is Chief Technology Officer of Libelium, where he leads the company’s technology strategy for artificial intelligence, IoT, edge computing, data spaces, digital twins, data governance and cybersecurity. He is a member of the FIWARE Foundation Board of Directors and chairs IEEE P2510, the standardization initiative on data quality for IoT. He is also the technical coordinator of the European Commission’s Local Digital Twin Toolbox, supporting interoperable and sovereign digital infrastructures for public-sector decision-making. Dr. Jara founded HOPU, an IoT and smart-city company that merged with Libelium in 2022. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering, awarded Cum Laude by the University of Murcia, and an MBA. His professional certifications include CISA and CISM, together with specialized credentials in AI auditing, data management and European data spaces. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, holds several patents and has delivered more than 100 invited talks worldwide. His current work focuses on trustworthy and frugal AI, cyber-resilient edge architectures, AI governance and the operationalization of secure, explainable and standards-based digital systems.
